Chief artist Dana Bee's lifelong interest in multiple aspects of the arts developed in her childhood and has been flourishing ever since. She has three summers' experience as an arts and crafts specialist at Ramah Day Camp in Elkins Park, PA but loves working with people of any and all ages. She enjoys dabbling in as many media as she can and loves to create whenever possible. She is also self-taught in HTML, has taken classes in Photoshop and Illustrator, and can accommodate any custom graphic or web design request you may have.
Dana's fondest recollections of getting her face painted as a child took place at home with her mom as well as various community functions she attended. "When I was about four years old," Dana recalls, "I got into the set of face paints my mom would use on me and started painting myself. Even though my mom was not happy that I made the paints all mucky, it was through this that I taught myself the bare necessities of face painting." This, she says, sparked her interest in volunteering as a face painter at district-wide events while in High School. After those two experiences, she gleaned the inspiration to eventually pursue face painting professionally although she did not know at the time how to bring it to fruition. Finally, in October 2009, Dana began face painting professionally under the tutelage of her good friend and fellow face painter Cyde Klaristenfeld, owner of MadJackArt. In November 2009, Dana attended the FABBULAS convention, sponsored by MadJackArt, featuring renowned face and body artists such as Mark Reid, Nick and Brian Wolfe, Pashur, Karen Sawyer, Kerry Ann Smith, and Consie Sindet.
An aspiring makeup artist since the age of ten, Dana has assisted with makeup application for numerous stage productions, including Lower Moreland High School's "Once Upon A Mattress" (2003) and the Beth Sholom Players' production of "Seussical the Musical." Halfway through her second year of college, Dana temporarily scrapped her career goal of becoming a Spanish translator in hopes of becoming a theatrical makeup artist/hairstylist and decided to work towards establishing herself as a face and body artist and creative entrepreneur to supplement her dream career. After receiving her bachelor's degree in Spanish from Temple University in May 2011, she hopes to further her education in cosmetology and culinary arts.
